Consideration

Being considerate of others isn't just being thoughtful, but it's also taking yourself out of the equation and taking in someone else's emotions and what they want instead of your own. If you ask someone what movie they would like to watch and they say "It doesn't matter, we can watch whatever you would like," then they are being considerate of you. They are taking their interests out of the equation and placing yours there instead.

To determine if you are being considerate in a situation, simply ask yourself if what you are doing is harming someone else or negatively affecting them. For example, if you are playing your music loud and someone next to you is trying to study, are you being considerate of them? The answer is no, especially if they have asked you to turn down your tunes and you don't. You are choosing to ignore that your music is negatively affecting them. If you are considerate of them, then you would kindly turn down your tunes enough so they can study effectively.

Put yourself in another person's place and imagine what emotions they may be feeling.

Put someone's feelings before your own

To determine if you are being considerate of someone else and how they feel, ask yourself if what you are doing is harmful or negatively affecting that person or people. I so, then that is not being considerate. Pay close attention of how your actions may have an impact on someone else. To be considerate, just be positive around others and create a positive atmosphere.
